A total of 3,948 inmates both located in penitentiary and detention centers in Central Java, today Wednesday (6/7), has received remission.
This is in accordance with the decree of sentence reductions submitted by the Head of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) Region Central Java, Bambang Sumardiono.
Meanwhile, in prison for Class I Kedungpane Semarang alone, there were 428 prisoners who proposed obtaining remission.
The eight prisoners including smoking immediately after receiving the sentences reduced.
Bambang called the remissions as a form of attention the state to its citizens who are undergoing criminal penalties.
“The state remains to pay attention, to give remission to its citizens who are serving a sentence,” he said, after the Eid prayers at Masjid At-Tawbah Kedungpane Semarang Prison complex.
